Hi, Friends! Happy Thursday! This one is going to be short & sweet because yesterday’s post was info overload!
We are off to Cincinnati today and have a FIVE day weekend ahead 🙂
We have started to plan the wedding in terms of securing a date and venue, but that’s it for now. We are getting married at The Transcept in Cincinnati on 11.10.17- exactly one year from today! I would say planning is not #1 priority at the moment as my little sister is getting married this weekend and we’ve been focusing so much on work & little Cal of course. Hoping to steal as many wedding tips from her as I can, LOL. I’m the first sister with a baby and the last sister married – keepin’ it classy like that! But for real, I think that the REAL reason people get married before having kids is because there’s not much free time to plan a wedding once you have a child.
I was never the girl who always dreamed of her fantasy wedding, but I am a perfectionist in certain ways and go from 0 to 100 (real quick) when I commit to things. Sooo TBD on if i’ll be chill bride or psycho bride… From here, I am planning on building our wedding timeline with budget & payment details attached.
Married friends:
What should I be doing next?
What would you change about your wedding planning process?
What would you spend more/less money on?
What else should be done at 1 year out?
Here are the photos from our mini engagement session with my photographer Henrietta – she is the bomb and we love how these turned out! Excuse our summer attire – they were taken back in Aug/Sept and I’m just now sharing!
As always, don’t forget to follow RwS by entering your email below & find me on my socials as I would love to have you!

Congratulations! I planned my whole wedding in 9 months so I’m no help on scheduling but my best advice to a future bride is to remember to take time the day of your wedding to look around and enjoy your day! It goes by in a blur 🙂

Congratulations! Weddings are so much fun! I have no idea what kind of bride I will be either! My only advice is to choose what are must haves for your wedding and stick to them- don’t let someone talk you out of it if you really want it.

Yay! Congrats on the engagement photos. They looks so great! I just got married last year. Planning it was so fun, partially because I am so super organized. And I planned for EVERYTHING. If I were to give you advice, it would be to not forget about the videography. Everyone cuts that first because who needs a video when you have photos?! But let me tell you…there’s nothing like reliving your day via the video. It is so much fun. Plus, it helped me remember things I completely forgot about on the wedding day. The day goes by so fast! Good luck with the wedding this weekend and planning for yours next year!!

Hey lady! Thanks so much for this tip – I can totally see how people get rid of the video but I definitely want a videographer!! My sister’s wedding was this weekend and I already can’t wait to watch it. thanks for the tips!!!

Beautiful photos! One of the best things we did was arrange our own flowers. We paid a florist to do a large arrangement for the ceremony, my bouquet, and the men’s lapels. We ordered flowers in bulk and the day before the wedding all the bridesmaids got together and drank mimosas and arranged table centerpieces and bridesmaid bouquets. They were gorgeous and it was so fun!

I just got married in June and we had planned a pretty large wedding 🙂 One year out I definitely reccomend finding a photographer/caterer! They book up FAST. Now that you have a venue, those are the next 2 things I’d focus on!
I LOVE your engagement pictures<3 They are so cute! Have a blast wedding planning 🙂 I wish I could go back and do it all over again!
